Shekinah Morris

DVM MSc

"Everyone deserves compassion and equal opportunity in Veterinary medicine."

Dr. Shekinah Morris is an emerging author of Vet School guides. For her, becoming a veterinarian has always been a passion; one that came to life in 2020.

Her Bachelors of Science in Biology and Minor in Chemistry was obtained at Thee Prairie View A&M University. She then attended St. George’s University, where she obtained a dual degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Masters of Science in Pharmacology.

As a resident of Texas, she moved back after graduating vet school and started working multiple jobs in the veterinary field. This included mobile practice, corporate and eventually independent contract work. She then worked in academia for a couple years but ultimately decided that she would invest in herself to work towards achieving a greater goal, working in research and empowering the black veterinary community.
